Drupal developer distribution is a re-packaged drupal installation, containing developer friendly modules. The profile behind the distribution can be found on Drupal Developer profile project page. For related posts you can subscribe to the rss feed.

The install profile enables the following modules:

Core: user, filter, block Contrib: devel, devel_generate, admin_menu, coder, install profile api (Drupal 6 only). Simpletest is provided, but not enabled.

Default username/pw for admin: drupal/drupal (NOTE: for the drupal 6 version the profile doesn’t set these yet, although offers defaults for the fields)
