6.6 version of the devel distro is rolled

Due to Roc Zlender’s tireless work simpletest now can be installed without the simpletest framework. This means that automatic installation of simpletest from an install profile is now doable, and so i have included it into the developer install profile.
On top of that I rolled a 6.6 version of the core along with the updated modules. Downloadables as usual in the distro page above. Enjoy!

Nice one, i’ve been interested in ‘Profile Install’ for quite some time and hadn’t known that there was one for Developers. Will give the D6 version a spin…
I just hope next year, there’ll be an explosion of Profile Install available as it’s a tedious tasks to keep having to install most-used modules all the time on a clean install.
Thanks,

thanks for your time, i would value any feedback. i agree on that maintaining such stuff is a tedious work, my assumption is that for a dev distro its not that important, as long there are no major changes (a devel module is good if its 5.x-2.12, or 2.13, doesn’t matter really, (numbers are just random)).

I tried to install your dev profile installation but couldn’t get pass setting up the DB page on install. This is at the stage where you enter in DB name, user and password? not sure why?

well you must have the database set up for username and password as usual. Did you get any errors in the process?
I just double checked, if I have the database username/pass set up in drupal according to the database settings the process goes on smoothly.

Yep, it did work. It was done locally on my Mac and i think it didn’t copy the files over cleanly after i unzip the distro.
Thanks,
